Polycystic Kidney Disease
An inherited disorder, polycystic kidney disease (PKD) causes clusters of cysts (either several or large) to develop inside your kidneys. This may lead to serious complications, including chronic pain, brain aneurysms, heart valve abnormalities, and end-stage kidney disease.
Symptoms of polycystic renal disease can include kidney stones, blood in the urine, high blood pressure, kidney or urinary tract infections, and headaches.
For polycystic kidney disease treatment, the healthcare team at Nephrology Consultants, P.A., may recommend an ultrasound, an MRI scan, or a CT scan. Depending on your condition, we may prescribe Tovlaptan therapy, blood pressure-controlling medications, dietary changes, surgery, dialysis, or a kidney transplant.
Disclaimer: Lab tests are not done in our clinic, but you can consult our nephrologists for your lab reports.
